via City of Fort Worth:
As a part of an annual trout stocking, Tarrant Regional Water District is partnering with Fort Worth’s urban angling community to present the second annual TRWD Flyfest on March 11. The festival will be a family-friendly day of fly fishing, food, wine and craft beer in and along the rippling waters of the Clear Fork of the Trinity River.
Whether you are an experienced angler or have never touched a fly rod, this fun day will have something for the whole family.
The festival will run from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. near the intersection of Bryant Irvin Road and River Park Drive. Parking is at the River Park Trailhead, 3100 Bryant Irvin Blvd. Festival admission is free.
Fly tying lessons will be available throughout the day and will cover an array of types of flies, from beginner-friendly patterns to advanced. Fly fishing experts will host numerous demonstrations, including beginning casting, a women’s casting class and how to cast big flies.
During the Big Trout Contest, anglers will compete to catch the biggest trout or the most fish in the time allotted to win the TRWD Flyfest Grand Prize.
