Honor veterans at downtown parade Nov. 11

The Tarrant County Veterans Day Parade will roll through downtown Fort Worth on Nov. 11. The theme is “Honoring Blue and Gold Star Vietnam Veteran Families.”


The parade will feature more than 5,000 participants, including veterans, active military, Junior ROTC groups, school bands, and civic and patriotic organizations. Grand marshal is Shannon Spake of the National League of POW/MIA Families.


Parade entries will stage by 9:30 a.m. at Panther Island Pavilion, 395 Purcey St., and step off at 10:30 a.m. The parade will proceed south on Main Street to Sundance Square for an 11 a.m. opening ceremony.


After the ceremony, the parade will continue south on Main Street to Fifth Street, west to Houston Street, then north on Houston Street to return to the staging area.
