Shaping the Future Together:
Enhancing Safety through a Proposed Public Improvement District
The City of Fort Worth is working with West 7th and Foundry District business owners to share information about the proposed establishment of a Public Improvement District (PID) aimed at enhancing safety in the area. PIDs are special zones where property owners can fund improvements and maintenance beyond what the city provides through additional assessments based on their business’ property value. The proposed Near Westside PID – which is only focused on commercial properties – seeks to enhance the district by funding additional police presence, security cameras, lighting, and safety technologies, among other improvements. This initiative aims to create a safer, more attractive environment for businesses and visitors alike. Business owners must consider and opt-in to the PID for it to be formally created, so those seeking further information or who may be interested in supporting the creation of the Near Westside PID are encouraged to reach out to the City's PID Administrator.
