PUBLIC WORKSHOP: Preservation Plan Updates

  • 21 Oct 2026
  • 5:30 PM
  • The Woman’s Club of Fort Worth, 1316 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104

The City of Fort Worth Historic Preservation Office is excited to begin the process of updating the preservation plan that was last adopted in 2003, and are inviting you to participate in any of our planned public engagement opportunities this fall!

Staff began the update internally in 2022 and have since received a Certified Local Government Grant from the Texas Historical Commission to hire Terracon as our consultant to finish the process.

The goal of the plan is to reflect on where the City’s preservation program has succeeded, and what the community would like to see accomplished in the next decade. We have three public input opportunities:

  1. Wednesday, September 16th 6-8pm at Ella Mae Shamblee Library
  2. Thursday, October 1st 12:00-1:30 pm – Virtual (email designreview@fortworthtexas.gov to be included on the invitation!)
  3. Wednesday, October 21st at the HFWI Cantey Lecture hosted at The Woman’s Club of Fort Worth ***(This is a paid event hosted by Historic Fort Worth Inc and requires additional registration to attend the entire event but not to visit staff’s table  https://historicfortworth.org/events-tours/cantey/. City staff will have a table at the door to gather input from walk-ins and/or attendees.)
